Date Difference
Find the exact number of days, weeks, or months between two dates.
CalculatorHow to use this tool
Measure the distance between two calendar dates in days, whole weeks, months, and years. A checkbox switches between counting the end date and leaving it out, which is the difference between a four-day and a five-day working week.
- STEP 1Pick a start date and an end date, or press Today to fill either one.
- STEP 2Decide whether the end date should count as a full day.
- STEP 3Press Calculate Difference.
Counting is done on calendar dates rather than elapsed hours, so a range that crosses a daylight-saving change is not one day short. Reversing the dates gives the same absolute answer.
All inputs and calculations stay in your browser; TimeKit does not send your entries to a server.

Frequently asked questions
Should I count the end date or not?
Count it when both endpoints are part of the span you care about, such as a holiday that runs Monday to Friday. Leave it out when you want the gap between two moments, such as days until a deadline.
Why does this differ from the working days calculator?
The working days tool always counts both endpoints because a booking normally includes its first and last day. Tick the box here to match it.
How are months and years counted?
As completed calendar months and years, so 31 January to 28 February is one month even though it is 28 days.
