Countdown Timer

Count down to any future event — New Year, birthday, deadline.

Timer

How to use this tool

Count down to any future moment in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Name the event and the countdown keeps ticking while the page stays open.

  1. STEP 1Optionally name the event.
  2. STEP 2Pick a target date and time, or use one of the preset buttons.
  3. STEP 3Press Start Countdown.

The target is read in your local time zone. The countdown measures elapsed time, so a daylight-saving change during the period shifts the finishing wall-clock time by an hour.

All inputs and calculations stay in your browser; TimeKit does not send your entries to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Does the countdown keep running if I close the tab?

No. It runs in the page, so closing the tab stops it. Reopen the page and set the same target to resume.

Can I count down to a date in another time zone?

Convert the moment to your own zone first with the time zone converter, then enter that value here.
